They told me “Your face is too oval to be a model”. “You should lose weight”. “You should get your nose fixed, it’s too round”. “You should get some filler for your lips”.
And they said “You should smile more”. For them, whatever you do, it’s never enough.
I refused. I am me, with my oval face, my chubby nose, my stretch marks, my pimples, my body hair, my belly fat, my expression wrinkles.
All I needed was someone who could paint me with light and sculpt me with talent. Respect my shape, not force it into their mold.
All I needed was Julie, my photographer.
And here I am.
